5 Pizza Marketing Strategies to Drive Sales in Any Economy

pizzamarketing 150x150 5 Pizza Marketing Strategies to Drive Sales in Any EconomyNo matter how good your pizza is, it will not matter if your pizza marketing strategies are not bringing customers in the door. Once you get them to try your pizza, they may be hooked for life, but just how do you get new customers during this economy and time of increased competition for the average pizza shop?

Lets examine 5 pizza marketing strategies that work to bring in customers no matter the economy:

1. Give people a reason to eat your pizza:

You can put out ad after ad with discounts and buy on get on free offers but with out a strong call to action, you will not get the response rate you need. Words in your ad such as “Limited Time Offer” or “This Weekend Only” work to increase the importance of the offer and a reason to try you out immediately.

2. Focus on the benefits:

Is your pizza healthy, fast, cheap, or gourmet? Let people know what type of pizza you serve and the benefit of trying you out. By simply defining the market of your food you can separate yourself from all of the other shops just selling “pizza.”

3. Build a customer database:

It is far easier and more profitable to market to your existing customers than constantly trying to market to and gain new customers. If you had to make an extra $1000 this week to pay rent would you start a new marketing campaign that would cost almost as much as it would bring in or direct market to people who already like your pizza and spend money with you on a weekly basis? Capturing your customers information through pizza text message marketing or less effective email marketing can bring you the instant sales and increase customer frequency you need.

4. Get involved in the community:

This is an easy way that will lead to increased sales immediately and over the long term. If you become active in the community with your pizza shop through targeted donations and fundraisers you will benefit from increased support and customers. Hold a new fundraiser every week where you donate 10% of gross sales from everyone who brings in a flyer about the charity night. Community groups and charities distribute the flyers for you to their members and it will increase your sales that night as well as bring you a ton of positive press.

5. Test your different marketing campaigns:

This is an important aspect of any pizza marketing strategy. You must test, track and determine the return on investment for any marketing strategy you implement. If certain offers or coupons bring in the most customers, you need to know that and scale up those efforts instead of just sending out tons of offers and not knowing which ones actually bring you money.

Start with a couple of these points this week and you will notice the new customers and increased sales.

Here’s my tip. In a world when environmental issues have increased, people are searching more and more for eco-friendly products that won’t harm our planet. Try to use eco boxes or leaflets for your business and explain this to your customers and you will definitely see more sales.
