The Top 3 Ways to Increase Sales at Any Business

how to increase sales page earnings 300x299 The Top 3 Ways to Increase Sales at Any BusinessThere are 3 basic methods for any business to increase their sales. Two of these can be done right now, this instant to increase your daily sales over the previous week. The third takes a little time but is something you can do before you open the store or even today for the more aggressive business owner.

1. Increase the average sale

You can increase the average sale by simple up-selling. Just an extra $20 a day will add $7,300 a year to your gross sales. Customers are already in a buying mode, the transaction is already in motion, you just need to close the sell with buying words that aren’t deemed aggressive to the customer.

The words “Do you” or other question phrases lead the buyer into a questioning mode that makes their brain think if they really want it, they will have time to consider the price versus benefit of the transaction. Simply by switching the up sell script to “Guacamole with that?” or “Extra dressing with that?” This buyer does not go through the same questioning routine in their mind and you will be able to up sell on average 45% of these customers.

2. Increase the customer frequency

If your average customer comes to your store once a week or less, an increase of 50% or 2 extra visits a month will make a huge difference in profits. This can be accomplished through text message marketing especially on your slower nights or days. Sending out mobile coupon that is only redeemable that day will increase customer frequency as customer habits will still keep them coming back on their regular purchase days.

Bounce back coupons also work great. We see this at grocery stores on the back of the receipt, pizza places…the big 3 in the industry: Pizza Hut, Papa John’s and Dominoe’s will never send out a pizza without a box topper with limited time offers that will increase frequency. Following the marketing of the big competitors in your area is a solid indicator of what works. They have spent a huge amount of money and time testing these offers and marketing methods to be sure there methods are profitable.

3. Increase your number of customers

The free and easy way to do this is go out and visit local businesses in your area. Drop of menus, flyers, coupons or just a brochure to let them know about your business. Draw a circle around your business on a map of a 3-5 mile radius. There must be dozens if not hundreds of locations you can visit. Break the circle up into 5 sections and within one week you will have new customers the free way. Those in the restaurant industry can have their delivery driver’s drop off menus at apartment complexes if they have extra time and make sure they always leave extra menus at apartment complexes or at the house to each side of the delivery throughout the day.

Most business owners will do one of these methods and notice an increase in sales. Others will do all three on a daily basis and give their competition a serious headache while increasing their sales throughout the recession we are in. Take action and let us know what guerrilla marketing methods you are implementing this summer.

You can also increase the number of your customers through social media campaigns on websites like facebook or twitter. The advantages of this type of campaign is that you can engage with more people, target only the ones that are interesting in your business and also send them frequent updates. It’s also much cheaper than making flyers and hiring someone to distribute them.
